CIS Benchmarks
CIS Benchmarks represent a set of globally respected best practices for protecting IT systems against cyber threats. Benchmarking generally compares a system to official recommendations from, e.g., hardware manufacturers, software publishers, or institutions.
The CIS Benchmarks are published by the US-based CIS (Centre for Internet Security) and contain security guidelines covering seven key areas:
- Operating Systems
- Servers
- Cloud Infrastructure
- Mobile Phones
- Network Devices
- Desktop Software
- Multifunctional Printing Devices
