GitLab Setup

A complex platform for the software development

Gitlab is an open-source project that allows you to store individual versions of the developed software and helps integrate the necessary tools for implementing the DevOps methodology in a single platform.

GitLab in Numbers

More than 300 contributors

GitLab is developed by a community of more than 3,000 developers who are constantly improving the product.

67% share on the Git Market

Of the companies based on Git versioning software, GitLab is the clear market leader.

In 2019, GitLab was voted the best provider of DevOps solutions in the DevOps Dozen rankings.

An Elementary Navigation in GitLab

We can help you with GitLab

We can help you with GitLab

GitLab is a welcome helper for development teams of all sizes to help automate processes in all cycles of the development process. We actively use it in MasterDC and can advise on deployment, configuration, connection with other tools or writing a CI / CD pipeline.

What is the GitLab for?

Scheduling and Management

In GitLab you can create teams and subteams at up to 20 hierarchical levels. Individual versions of software development are also recorded, hence you can find out who made the changes and what exactly was done. Last but not least, GitLab allows you to monitor the progress of subtasks and the time spent on them.

Implentation of other tools

GitLab allows you to connect to a variety of useful tools used in software development. Examples include project management tools such as Attlassian Jira and Redmine, Jenkins automation technology, or integration with the Icinga monitoring project.

Continuous Integration (CI)

Continuous Integration (CI) is the process of merging parts of the developed code into a final whole. In GitLab, such merging usually takes place several times a day, while the code is analysed and tested at the same time. Potential problems will be revealed in the beginning.

DevOps automatisation

Thanks to GitLab, many worries associated with the DevOps methodology are eliminated. Gitlab detects code language, enables automatic testing, measures code quality, and finds security flaws and licensing issues. The developers then have more time for creativity and the code development itself.

Work with containments

GitLab also makes it easier to work with containers. Thanks to the Clair and Klar tools, Docker containers can be scanned to detect their vulnerabilities. The Cilium plugin, in turn, helps with Kubernetes network security. GitLab also supports detection and monitoring of metrics from Kubernetes.

Did you know that ...

GitLab is used by more than 100,000 companies and institutions? Among them might be named the e-shop Alibaba, NASA, SpaceX, NVIDIA, IBM or the CERN laboratory.
