Virtual private servers (VPS hosting) are a low-cost alternative to common cloud hosting. Both of these services are operated on completely different hardware, and they both take advantage of virtualisation. In contrast to cloud hosting, we do not provide service availability guarantees for virtual servers.
If standard web hosting has insufficient capacity for you and a dedicated server would not be of much use, VPS is one of the options. As a matter of fact, it is a compromise. You work with the server entirely the same way as if it were dedicated only to you, but the hardware is shared by several users.
Our virtual servers are run on professional Dell EMC machines. For virtualisation, Hyper-V is used for Windows servers and KVM for Linux servers as a virtualisation technology.
